Welcome to Alberta Wildlife Watch!
Alberta Transportation is pleased to introduce this tool for highway maintenance contractors and designated stakeholders (assigned Organization ID code required; not available to the general public) to share wildlife observations along Alberta’s transportation network.
This tool will improve the accuracy of animal-vehicle collision reporting and ultimately help us to better understand the factors leading to motor vehicle-wildlife collisions.
The Alberta Wildlife Watch app provides a more efficient means of reporting, gathers real-time province-wide information into a single database, and performs simple analyses of motor vehicle-wildlife collisions.
These features allow Alberta Transportation to identify motor vehicle-wildlife collision prone locations and respond with solutions in a timely manner.
The wildlife information you provide through Alberta Wildlife Watch will be used by Alberta Transportation to directly improve the safety of both motorists and wildlife across the province.
We encourage you to report your wildlife observations (both carcasses and live animals) and share your photos on Alberta Wildlife Watch.
